The Equality Texas Candidate Directory is a project of Equality Texas - a 501c4 political advocacy organization, and is designed to give voters a clearinghouse of information pertaining to candidates seeking various offices who are in support of full lived equality for all LGBTQIA+ Texans. The directory will also highlight when a candidate themselves identifies as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. 

Participation in the directory is optional and DOES NOT imply an endorsement from Equality Texas. 

We encourage voters to research the candidates and make an informed decision before Turning OUT to the polls in 2024. Many candidates have policy priorities and positions listed on their website and candidates listed in the Equality Texas candidate directory are required to take the Pledge for LGBTQIA+ Equality listed below.

Take the Pledge for LGBTQIA+ Equality

As a candidate seeking public office in the state of Texas, I pledge to represent all of my constituents, and to work for a Texas in which everyone has the freedoms to work hard, earn a living, provide for their families, and participate fully in their communities - including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, non-binary and queer (LGBTQIA+) Texans.

When elected to office, I will not support legislation that singles out marginalized communities for exclusion or targets their freedoms, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I will oppose any attempts to enshrine discrimination or differential treatment of LGBTQIA+ people into legislation.
