Jewish Dems celebrate the historic confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve as the next associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court and as the first Black woman on the Court. At a time when our democracy and freedoms are under threat, we are confident that Justice Jackson will represent the best of America, and defend our Jewish values as an exceptional Supreme Court Justice. Jewish Dems applauded President Biden's historic choice and are proud of Senate Democrats ensuring Justice Jackson's swift confirmation.

In the lead-up to Judge Jackson's nomination, Jewish Dems was horrified by the racist and bigoted Republican reaction to Biden's announcement that he would nominate a Black woman. The baseless and offensive attacks against Justice Jackson from Republicans during her confirmation hearings deserve universal outrage. Justice Jackson's testimony demonstrated exceptional poise and grace under such egregious questioning from Senate Republicans, as well as the depth and breadth of her experience.
