"Determined lawyers have been able to bring strong cases against bad actors in the gun industry, and the nation is safer for it." –USA TODAY Editorial Board
The Brady Center's Legal Action Project (LAP) is the nation's only public interest legal practice dedicated to fighting in the courts to reduce gun violence. LAP's productivity is due in large part to dedicated lawyers and law firms who make up its national pro bono alliance, Lawyers for a Safer America (LSA). LSA connects lawyers and law firms throughout the country with LAP. LSA members do everything from serving as lead counsel in affirmative litigation cases, serving as co-counsel, preparing amicus briefs for the Supreme Court of the United States, researching legal issues, advising the Brady Center on legal issues, writing articles/op-eds, and more. Because of LSA, the Brady Center has been able to leverage the expertise of its legal staff to litigate high impact affirmative lawsuits in courts across the United States while helping establish important constitutional law that allows for common sense gun violence prevention laws and policies.
The need for determined attorneys abounds. Whatever your legal specialty, you can use your legal training to help reduce gun violence in America. To learn how, sign up for Lawyers for a Safer America today.
