Organic Seed Alliance (OSA) offers an alternative future of food, one in which farmers, plant researchers, and seed advocates work together to ensure that our organic food supply is healthy, resilient, and adaptable.
Problem: Seed is too often overlooked as the foundation of our food and agricultural systems. Yet this tiny resource has enormous impacts on how we farm and what we eat. As the global seed industry consolidates, the biodiversity of our food chain and farmers' access to adaptable seed diminishes. The need for organic seed far exceeds the supply.
Solution: OSA's science-based research expands the genetic richness of organic seed and cultivates the heirlooms of tomorrow. We educate hundreds of farmers every year on seed stewardship and production. OSA's advocacy efforts inform national policies and research priorities to strengthen organic systems. At OSA, we grow seed for the common good.
