These facilities allow us to store wind and solar energy at their strongest and use that energy at other times of day when our communities need it most, all while reducing our reliance on polluting fossil fuels and lowering our electric bills.

Battery storage could help us phase out half of Long Island's existing gas peaker plants by 2030, improving our air quality and public health while saving Long Island families hundreds of dollars a year.

Battery facilities are safe and highly regulated, offering major local economic opportunities such as jobs and tax revenue for public services.

These projects will strengthen our power grid and protect against power outages in increasing extreme weather.
