Loyola University proudly trumpets its Jesuit values, claiming, “…a profound commitment to the poor and to issues of social responsibility and justice.” However recently, the Loyola administration seems to have forgotten these values. It has stifled the voices of student reporters and university employees. The administration has also avoided addressing concerns and having an honest conversation about crime, health and safety on campus. At the same time, the Board of Trustees, the body charged with running Loyola according to its bylaws, reveals little about its investments and their impacts on the community and the planet.
These secrets and attempts to silence dialogue hurt Loyola students, educators and our community. Sign this petition to demand that Loyola live its Jesuit values. Your signature will show Loyola that you will not be silenced!
