We urge the Board of Supervisors to award the dedicated essential staff that kept Fairfax County up and running during the COVID crisis, equitable COVID-19 emergency response bonus pay of no less than $1,500.00 or equal to the hazard pay being awarded to public safety workers.
- Fairfax County employees have stepped up, working extra shifts, longer and irregular hours, performing tasks outside of our regular duties, and exposing both ourselves and our own families to the virus even before we had access to proper protocols and personal protective equipment.
- We are joining together in our union and calling on the county to recognize our service by awarding us bonus pay for the essential jobs we continue to do during this unprecedented crisis.
- As frontline employees and union members, we need a real seat at the table through collective bargaining so we can work with the county to push for the pay, benefits and working conditions all of us need to thrive now and into the future.
