We voted for a $15 minimum wage and good union jobs to provide for our families. We voted for healthcare and long term care that everyone can afford. We voted to change policies and confront systems that make it harder for people of color and working families to thrive. We voted to protect frontline workers with protective gear, hazard pay, and paid sick leave and for a clear, rational plan to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
We voted for and elected leaders who committed to fight alongside essential workers and our families – regardless of the color of our skin, our political views, or where we were born.
But we're just getting started. Now, we have to make sure our new leaders – and all our representatives – do what we elected them to do. Take the pledge and demand that industry and elected leaders respect us, protect us, and pay us what we deserve.
PLEDGE:
I pledge to keep fighting for essential workers and our families; to ensure that everyone has access to healthcare and long term care; for Unions for All and $15 an hour; and for an economy and democracy where every worker is valued and every voice matters – regardless of the color of our skin, where we were born, or how much money we have. I am committed to calling on elected and industry leaders to respect us, protect us, and pay us.
