Here is an example script:
Hello, I'm [FIRST AND LAST NAME] from [CITY AND STATE] and I'm a constituent of your office.
I'm calling today to ask the Senator to support a bold and equitable response to the COVID-19 pandemic through supporting and passing the Build Back Better Act. This bill addresses historic inequities that have stifled our economic recovery. I believe that Senator [NAME] needs to meet the moment and act to solve the many challenges facing Black communities nationwide. The Senator can do this by supporting the Build Back Better Act, which includes resources and policies that benefit every person in this country. We need Senator [NAME] to take bold action to meet the scale and urgency of the many challenges facing our communities.
I'm asking the Senator to support the Build Back Better Act, which includes:
- Closing the Medicaid coverage gap by providing a pathway to coverage for more than 2 million people,
- Reducing housing insecurity and homelessness through investment in Housing Choice Vouchers, and
- Extending the Child Tax Credit enhancements through the end of next year.
I will be closely monitoring the legislation and urge the Senator to put our communities first by passing a bold and fair package. Thank you for your time.
