Join the UU Georgia Legislative Action Network, Side With Love, Georgia Interfaith Power & Light, and many more communities who are coming together in this critical moment for our democracy, climate, and state.  From June 23-25, we will be making good trouble for climate justive - join us as we Claim Our Power and demand we want a just and moral energy policy for all of Georgia!

Why Are Georgia UUs Mobilizing this June?

Georgia is facing a critical moment in its energy & climate future - move towards cleaner & renewable forms of energy, or double down on the use of toxic coal and fossil fuels that will come with a hefty financial and environmental price tag.  Georgia Power is trying to pursue the latter, and make Georgia families pay the costs.  

Now is the time to Claim Our Power and demand a change that honors the interdependent web of all existence, and choices that promote healthy, equity, and access to ALL of Georgia. 

The Georgia Public Service Committee is meeting on June 23-25 to hear Georgia Power's rebuttals to the testimonies and comments that have criticized their proposed Integrated Resource Plan. We need to show up and let the elected representatives of the committee know what their constituents believe and need, and to demand they make sure Georgia Power honors OUR power.

  • 8:00AM: Faithful Centering & Public Comment in Atlanta
  • PM: Pride & Power Pizza Party! (time and location TBD)

Reminder: A pre-mobilization community call and orientation will be held online on Wednesday June 11 at 7pm ET.  You will receive the call-in information after you register for the in-person mobilization.
