Where libraries across the country have been under duress and mounting restrictions, the Memphis Public Libraries have defied the odds. We are stronger than ever, and that is in no small part due to the gifts from donors like you.
Over the last few years, MPL has grown and adapted to what Memphians truly need in their city, so allow us to reintroduce you to the libraries. This year and next bring Memphis:
The rebirth of the historic Cossitt Library downtown with unique tools and spaces for entrepreneurial-minded teens and adults
A new state-of-the-art building for Frayser, bringing North Memphis some fresh resources, books, and programming
A new branch - the Orange Mound Branch - with a one-of-a-kind African American Genealogy Center in the historic Melrose High School building
The new, innovative "Library of Things: The Joy Collection" that provides Memphians the opportunity to check out objects for use for free
With your help, we have become and hope to stay one of the country's most innovative public library programs.
Thank you for your contribution!
