2024 Picnic On the Farm: Celebrating Georgia's Agricultural History

ABOUT THE EVENT:  Take a step back in time with us at ABAC's Georgia Museum of Agriculture in Tifton, Georgia, for our Signature Eventure, Picnic on the Farm. This unique "pop-up" picnic event explores Georgia agriculture throughout the state. This year, we're heading to Tifton to celebrate Georgia's agricultural history at the GMA!

Guests will receive a blanket to sit anywhere on the scenic grounds of ABAC's Georgia Museum of Agriculture. VIP guests and sponsors will be escorted to their pre-set picnic area.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Step Back in Time: Explore the Historic Village, representing 19th-century Southern culture with authentic businesses, workshops, and homes.
  • Discover Georgia's Agricultural History: Learn about the evolution from subsistence farming communities to progressive farmsteads, highlighting the emergence of middle-class farm families and technological advancements.
  • Savor a Traditional Southern Picnic Lunch: Enjoy delicious Southern cuisine in a picturesque setting.
  • Refresh with Wine Slushies: Cool down with refreshing wine slushies and a cash bar.
  • Join in Fun Activities: Participate in fun games and activities for all ages.
  • Take Guided Museum Tours: Through informative tours, experience the rich history of Georgia agriculture.

TICKETS: General Admission tickets include a Southern picnic lunch, a picnic blanket, access to the museum and historic village (steam train, playground, exhibits), live music, and activities. VIP tickets offer all General Admission perks plus a pre-set picnic area, drink tickets, and early access. Student tickets provide the same benefits as General Admission at a lower price for guests under 21. For those making last-minute plans, Event Admission tickets are available to purchase up to the event day and include entry to the event, live music, and vendors but do not include food, drinks, or a picnic blanket; these can be purchased on-site. Perfect for families, couples, colleagues, college students, or a fun girls' trip. Let's celebrate Georgia's agriculture together at our signature event!

The Georgia Foundation for Agriculture is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to preparing the next generation of leaders for success in Georgia agriculture. The GFA works with Georgia Farm Bureau and other Georgia agricultural and educational organizations to achieve its mission.
