We'll let New York City leaders know you're on board to help save horses from the cruelties of carriage duty in traffic-choked streets.
Sign up now to tell New York City Council Speaker Adams to support Introduction 573, the New York City ordinance would wind down the horse drawn carriage industry by prohibiting the issuance of new licenses used in the operation of horse drawn cabs and prohibit their use beginning June 1, 2024. The industry would be replaced by horseless electric carriages that provide trips within Central Park and certain areas of Manhattan. (Former horse drawn carriage driver's license holders would be given priority for driver's licenses for the new vehicles.) We also demand that officials enforce existing regulations regarding rest, nutrition, and vet care to ensure animal and public safety.
