Shut Rikers Rally at Foley Square

Join us on Tuesday, July 9th at 1 pm at Foley Square for our Shut Rikers Rally.

Since Mayor Adams took office, at least 31 people have died in DOC custody, and violence is out of control. It is clear that Rikers is in a state of crisis and immediate action is needed to save lives until it is closed. On July 9th, the federal courts are convening their next status hearing where Judge Laura Taylor Swain is considering stripping the city of its control of Rikers and appointing an independent receiver. The federal courts must take this drastic step to improve conditions and save lives.
