The fossil fuel industry polluting our atmosphere can't exist without money from banks and investors. If we stop the Big Four Banks—Bank of America, Chase, Citibank, and Wells Fargo—from investing, we help shut down the industry. We don't want our money and savings to be used to bankroll the climate crisis. Seventy percent of the country's financial assets belong to Baby Boomers and the Silent Generation. Who can influence the banks? We can. Together with youth who are fighting for their future.

We are asking customers and non-customers alike to sign the Banking on our Future Pledge below and provide a personal comment. We will deliver these pledges to the bank CEOs and bank branches in waves. While we at Third Act specifically campaign with people over 60, we're inviting people of all ages to join us in this Pledgewe are stronger together.

We've got lots of resources to help you find better banks and credit cards and make the switch (learn more here). And don't forget to tell your bank or credit card company why you're leaving, and also tell us about your switching progress and experience.

We, the undersigned individualsboth potential future customers and current customers of Bank of America, Chase, Citibank, and Wells Fargoare asking your banks to stop investing in fossil fuel companies and projects responsible for the climate crisis.

Our Pledge: "If Bank of America, Chase, Citibank, and/or Wells Fargo are still using our money to fund the exploration, expansion, and development of climate-destroying fossil fuel projects beyond March 1, 2023, the undersigned customers pledge to close our accounts and cut up our credit cards in the months ahead. If non-accountholders don't bank with these four banks now, the undersigned potential customers pledge that we won't do so in the future. We are collectively pledging to move our accounts out of your banks, if we are customers, and to do business with more environmentally and socially conscious banks, credit unions, and financial service providers, including checking, savings, and/or credit cards.

Together, current and potential future customers alike, we represent enormous business with your banks. Our request, and our hope, is that Bank of America, Chase, Citibank, and Wells Fargo will reform your lending and investment practices and that we may continue to be your customers or become your customers. Until then, we are unwilling to have our resources fund climate destruction. Move your money, or we will move ours. Cut it out on climate, or we will cut-up our credit cards.

We are powerful when we act together. No matter where you are on your journey towards aligning your money with your values, we need you to help harness our collective boldness. On March 21, 2023 thousands of us protested as part of the Day of Action to Stop Dirty Banks. We are continuing to deliver our pledges to the bank CEOs and creatively escalate pressure on the big banks to stop bankrolling risky fossil fuels and invest in clean energy, healthy communities, and climate resilience.
