Disadvantaged communities have experienced—and still experience—the negative impacts of climate change, global warming, and pollution at higher rates than the general population. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), as well as other federal agencies and private funding groups, recognize that improvements are needed to make the clean energy innovation ecosystem more inclusive and accessible to disadvantaged communities and individuals from groups historically underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Clean Energy Business Network is committed to furthering Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) through intentional outreach and action to bring new voices into the clean energy space—including entrepreneurs and clean energy leaders who are BIPOC, women, or from rural or low-income communities. We will continue to serve as a bridge between JEDI-oriented organizations and funding and development opportunities through the DOE or other platforms.
