Dear Secretary-General Guterres,
Thank you for your continued work in addressing Gender Apartheid in Afghanistan.
I am writing to express my deep concern about the ongoing human rights violations and Gender Apartheid of the Taliban in Afghanistan, as highlighted in the SR Richard Bennett's comprehensive report. We applaud him for a complete and excellent report on the situation of Afghan women and girls.
I urge you to use your leadership to end Gender Apartheid and ensure that the rights of Afghan women and girls are prioritized in all deliberations and actions taken by the UN concerning Afghanistan. Afghan women's inclusion and participation are absolutely essential for their future and the future of Afghanistan.
We urge you not to allow any normalization of the Taliban as long as it commits such egregious human rights violations in Afghanistan. We must deny them recognition globally and importantly, Afghanistan's UN seat.
Thank you for your attention to this critical matter.
For Freedom and Equality,
