Your donation will help Be:Seattle in the following ways:
Our Staff: Our staff is small (one full-time and one part-time staff member) but we are highly dedicated and our impact is substantial.
Renter Council: The Seattle Renter Organizing Council is a grassroots organizing group where Seattle renters can work together to strategize and fight for renter protections, provide peer-to-peer building organizing support, build community, and grow renter power!
Building Tenant Power Workshops: Monthly educational workshops focused on building tenant power and discussing important issues that affect renters. Past workshops include: Know Your Renters' Rights, Intro to Building Organizing, Transportation Access & Housing Justice, Universal Design & Disabled Renters' Rights, Organizing for the Comp Plan, Demystifying Housing Choice Vouchers, Sweeps: Evictions by Another Name; Your Civil Rights and Renting in Seattle, and more.
Building Organizing: We support renters in organizing their buildings, including outreach, agenda planning, relationship building, crafting demands, strategizing, developing a tenant association, and more.
Advocacy: Be:Seattle is dedicated to championing new renter protections and safeguarding existing ones. We help to educate renters on issues that affect them and actively participate in coalitions to build renter power and collectively fight for housing justice.
Will you be part of what we're building? Will you help Be:Seattle continue our work for renters and our unhoused neighbors in Seattle?
