Letters to My Daughters is a virtual monthly study companion that examines the intersection of faith and advocacy. The purpose of this project is to educate churches on matters of gender justice and explore how churches might include the social conditions of women, girls, and femmes to their ministry agendas. As our sense of activism is often passed down through the shared experiences of the women who came before us, Letters To My Daughters will explore new models of advocacy by centering the lived experiences of our mothers, grandmothers, aunts, cousins, sisters, and mentors who nurture us.
This season of Letters to My Daughters will explore the maternal mortality crisis and how the faith community can advocate for passage of the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act.
This study is open to all people – not just women, not just United Methodists, not just people who attend church. You may participate individually, or you may sign-up as a ministry partner. Individual participants can join the monthly virtual sessions and will be offered a weekly meditation podcast to integrate into current spiritual practices. Ministry partners will be asked to integrate the monthly sessions into their bible studies and will meet in between each study to brainstorm expanded models for ministry.
