I support the Community Movement Commons project

For over a decade, movement organizers have dreamed of a community movement space, and now have secured land in Roxbury at 23 Kearsarge Ave. and 14 Winthrop St. to see through their collective vision by building the Community Movement Commons (CMC). This project is collectively owned and governed by the Neighborhood Birth Center, Sisters Unchained, Center for Economic Democracy, Resist, Matahari Women Workers Center and the Movement Sustainability Commons.

The CMC holds immense promise in fostering collaboration, dialogue, and grassroots activism. By establishing a physical home for individuals and organizations to come together, share knowledge, and work towards common goals, the Community Movement Commons is building a vibrant network that will amplify the impact of local initiatives and inspire social transformation. The CMC will be many things: Boston's first and only location for birthing families focused on black maternal healthcare outcomes, a place for Roxbury neighbors and groups to gather and meet, and a place for ongoing support of women and BIPOC-led grassroots organizations and their members. Visit our website to learn more about the project.

Please add your name and address if you support this project moving forward. Names and addresses will be sent to the Zoning Board of Appeals to demonstrate community support for this project. Emails will only be used to keep you informed around the project if you so choose.
