The Tule elk, native only to California, are clinging onto existence.
The elk are trapped and dying behind an 8-foot fence maintained by NPS to protect grazing leases for dairy and meat ranchers. The main ponds they have access to are dry or in danger of drying. 15 elk have already died of thirst due to the negligence of the NPS.
First, the National Park Service refused our offer to provide water for the elk. Now they are proposing something even more shocking.
The National Park Service - in order to clear more land for grazing cattle and protect the interests of dairy and meat farmers, as well as their own pockets - are planning to execute the elk.
We have just days remaining to stop the signing of the Tule elk death warrant.
We won't stop fighting for the survival of the Tule elk, and we know you won't either. Please, consider making a donation to In Defense of Animals today and help us continue our life-saving work.
