Thank Congress for Passing Legislation to Hold Russia Accountable

As Jewish Americans, we cannot look away from the horrific mass atrocities Russia is committing in Ukraine. Over 1,200 Ukrainian civilians have been killed and 6.5 million have been displaced, with no end in sight. The deeply disturbing images of the Bucha massacre illustrate the Russian military's inhumane, systematic murder of innocent Ukrainian civilians: hundreds of bodies piled in the street, mass graves, and civilians dead with their hands tied behind their backs. This is a mass atrocity and Jewish Dems stand with Ukraine and wholly condemn Russia's unconscionable brutality.

Jewish Dems thank Congress for holding Russia accountable and passing H.R. 7108 and H.R. 6968 to codify President Biden's announcements to strip Russia of its favored trading status and ban Russian energy imports. However, we can't forget that Republicans stood in the way of passing this legislation for weeks. We applaud House and Senate Democrats for their leadership and for standing with Ukraine with both actions and words.
