Tell Rand Paul: Stop Blocking Iron Dome Funding

For the second time in two years, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has hijacked critical aid to Israel, this time blocking passage of $1 billion in supplemental funding for the Iron Dome. This funding is essential to Israel's security, as it will replenish the system's interceptors following the May 2021 conflict between Israel and Hamas, in accordance with the pledge made by President Biden to Israel. 

In the May 2021 conflict alone, the Iron Dome stopped 90% of rockets Hamas shot from Gaza that posed a threat to Israeli and Palestinian lives and infrastructure. JDCA was proud to support this funding when it recently passed in the House because it's critical to ensuring Israel's security and right to self-defense.

In September, the House of Representatives passed this funding overwhelmingly and on a bipartisan basis, by a vote of 420-9-2. Now, despite Senator Menendez (D-NJ) bringing the Iron Dome supplemental funding to the floor with the unanimous support of all 50 Democrats, Senator Paul has unilaterally blocked the funding with no clear path forward. 

It is time for Senator Paul to stop playing political games with aid to Israel.
