Dear Texas State Lawmakers,

We, the undersigned, write to express our profound outrage and disappointment that the Texas Legislature has chosen to prioritize easy access to firearms instead of safety. This session, the Legislature has passed bills that:

• Ban extreme risk protective orders (ERPOs), which temporarily remove firearms from a person who is a danger to themselves or others. This bill would even punish entities who enforce an out-of-state ERPO in Texas.
• Legalize short-barrel firearms.
• Funnel taxpayer money to the NRA's events.

Despite thousands of emails from supporters and hours of committee testimony, these bills will soon go to the Governor for signature.

We demand that lawmakers prioritize the safety of Texans over gun lobby influence.
