Supporting policies that help us drive green and breathe easy
Electric vehicles (EVs) and other clean vehicles, such as fuel cell vehicles, are an essential part of Connecticut's energy future. EVs and fuel cell vehicles emit little or no harmful tailpipe pollution and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases. They are also cheaper to fuel, easier to maintain, and fun to drive.
But there are challenges to the wide adoption of EVs, including price, lack of familiarity, and inadequate charging infrastructure. To cut emissions and build a clean energy future, we must establish policies that will make EVs affordable and appealing for Connecticut consumers.
The Connecticut Electric Vehicle Coalition was formed to support incentives and other policies that will put more EVs and fuel cell vehicles on the road in Connecticut and achieve significant economic, public health, and climate benefits for our state. The coalition steering committee includes Acadia Center, Connecticut Fund for the Environment, Connecticut Roundtable on Climate & Jobs, ChargePoint, Chispa-CT, Clean Water Action, Environment Connecticut, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and the Sierra Club.
