I am writing today to urge you to block Representative Richard Hudson's so called "Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act" (HR38) and Senator John Cornyn's so called "Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act" (S65). 

Individuals from states that passed permitless carry legislation -  with NO permit, background checks, or training requirements - should not be able to carry their loaded concealed firearms into states with strong permitting laws. 

Around the time 20 children and six educators were hunted & killed by a gunman with an AR15 in Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, only 4 states - Vermont, Alaska, Arizona, and Wyoming - allowed individuals to legally carry a concealed firearm in public without a permit. Now, 29 states allow it. Permitless Carry will become the law of the nation if the gun lobby passes its #1 priority federal legislation. 

400 million civilian-owned guns have not made us safer. 

There is no constitutional right for individuals to carry guns in public. The Second Amendment was a group right until the Supreme Court expanded it via the Heller and Bruen decisions. Allowing anyone from states with permitless carry to carry loaded concealed weapons across state lines will make our nation less safe.  

I urge you to stand with law enforcement leaders and agencies that do not support permitless carry.
