Thank you for choosing to be a part of the Alliance San Diego (ASD) team! At ASD, we strive to create a safe, enjoyable, and rewarding experience for all of our volunteers.

This agreement outlines what we expect from all volunteers in order to maintain a positive and respectful environment.

Attendance

Volunteers are expected to be punctual and attend all of the volunteer shifts to which they have committed. If a volunteer commits to a shift and can no longer attend the shift at the scheduled time, we ask that you notify the volunteer organizer, preferably by phone (e-mail if necessary), as soon as possible.

Confidential Information

In the course of their time at ASD, volunteers may encounter privileged, confidential, and proprietary information relating to Alliance San Diego or its strategies, supporters, employees and events. An Alliance San Diego staff member will inform volunteers if any information that they encounter is classified as confidential. When necessary, volunteers are asked to preserve the confidentiality of such information.

Conduct

We hope that every volunteer has the opportunity to take on tasks that help to develop their skills and/ or meets their stated interests. In order to have a rewarding experience, volunteers should carry out their project/ role to the best of their ability. Volunteers are ambassadors of Alliance San Diego and should be respectful, positive and professional when interacting with fellow volunteers, staff, and community members.

Risk agreement

I fully recognize and accept that volunteering has risks and unforeseen dangers (such risks could be, but are not limited to: mental/ emotional stress or physical injury). I have read the agreement and I am accepting and understand the Attendance, Confidentiality, and Conduct requirements. I understand that I have the right to review each activity prior to my participation and choose to participate of my own free will. I have read and understand Alliance San Diego's mission statement and I pledge to act and perform within those standards.

Media Release

I understand that while volunteering, I may be photographed or recorded on video. I give my consent for my likeness to be used in upcoming Alliance San Diego promotional materials on social media, emails, and/or print materials. If I object to being photographed, I will speak with a member of ASD staff and inform them of my limitations. 

Waiver, release, hold harmless, and indemnification agreement

I acknowledge that Alliance San Diego does not guarantee safety. I voluntarily waive, release and hold harmless Alliance San Diego, its board, employees and other volunteers from all claims, accidents, injuries, or death that result from actions related to my volunteer activities. I understand that this document disqualifies me from recovering damages against Alliance San Diego should I be injured in the course of my duties. I shall defend, hold harmless, and indemnify Alliance San Diego, its board, employees, and other volunteers from and against all claims, accusations, notices, judgements, rulings, liabilities, expenses, etc. that may exist as a result of my actions, inactions, errors, acts or omissions.

Acknowledgement

I have read and fully understand the above waiver. I understand that by signing this document I am giving up certain rights and accepting certain duties. I acknowledge that on this date, I have read and understand the Alliance San Diego Volunteer Agreement. As a volunteer for Alliance San Diego, I will comply with the terms of this agreement. I understand that non compliance with this agreement may result in my dismissal as a volunteer for Alliance San Diego.

I agree to work as a volunteer for Alliance San Diego and do so of my own free will. As a volunteer I am not an employee or agent of Alliance San Diego. I understand this role does not include compensation nor payment of any kind. Furthermore, I acknowledge that Alliance San Diego does not offer health insurance, worker's compensation insurance, auto insurance or any such employee benefit to volunteers.

By typing my name below, I agree to all conditions and expectations stated above. I understand that this digital form and my agreement are held to the same standards as a physical copy of such a document.
