Call the Senate: Pass Strong Voting Rights

Honor MLK & Take Action for Voting Rights Now!

Thank you for calling your Senators as part of our UU the Vote campaign to defend democracy and voting rights.

We have finally built enough pressure for voting rights that the Senate vote on the Freedom to Vote and John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Acts could happen as early as tomorrow and by January 17th - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. When those votes to promote democracy are blocked by the Jim Crow filibuster as expected, the next step will be votes on changing the Senate rules in order to pass the legislation.

We're telling the Senate: You delivered for bridges, now deliver for democracy and overturn the Jim Crow era filibuster that is blocking our way.

Call your Senators to urge them to deliver on the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

What happens next:

1) When you click the button that says 'Call me so I can talk to my Senators!', you will get to a new screen with the suggested script.

2) You will get a call from a 202 phone number -- that's us! Just pick up -- after a second, you'll hear our introduction and then you will be connected to your first Senator. After you're finished, press * on your phone, and you'll be connected with your second senator!  Be sure to leave a message if your call goes to voicemail.
