No Kansan should have to choose between health care and basic needs like rent, gas, or groceries. But right now, Congress is voting on the biggest cut to Medicaid in history that would affect access to health care for hundreds of thousands of Kansans and increase costs for families across the state.
Medicaid in Kansas provides care for people who need it the most: seniors receiving help with daily activities; low-income children who need check-ups and medication for a healthy start to life; and people with permanent disabilities, who rely on Medicaid to receive quality care while remaining in their homes and communities. Any kind of cut to Medicaid at the federal level threatens the health and security of our neighbors and would result in higher health care costs for all of us.
