Trans Masc Folks y Más welcomes ALL transgender, non-binary, androgynous, gender fluid, two-spirited individuals looking to explore and embrace their gender expression.
We are a peer-facilitated program by the Pride Center San Antonio co-facilitated by Leo Castillo, Tristan Garcia, and Rene Martinez in 2021. This group meets every last Friday at 6:00 pm.
We are a community made of diverse trans identities and we envision a community that is inclusive, respectful and values the existence of all gender identities. We seek to uplift our most marginalized voices, to learn from them, and to grow not only within ourselves but simultaneously with our community members, neighbors, and allies. We hope to achieve this by promoting education, community engagement, mutual aid, racial justice, and equity and equality on all fronts.
Mission Statement
Promoting a safe and welcoming environment where all Transgender, non-binary, androgynous, gender fluid, two-spirited, or questioning individuals can thrive. We promote a collaborative space where trans members of the community can meet to develop and strengthen bonds between each other, the trans community at large, and our neighbors and allies. This group aims to achieve a better, progressive, and universal understanding of what it means to be a trans person and seeks to accomplish that goal by welcoming all identities of people who wish to join and promoting education on gender identity and sexuality. We welcome any and all who wish to break down their current perceptions of gender and sexuality.
We will:
- Promote justice and equality in gender, race, class, and sexuality
- Ensure that all voices in the community are represented by providing a safe meeting space to discuss the various needs of our group and community members.
- Raise awareness regarding trans identity through education on gender and sexuality.
- Connect and collaborate with other LGBTQ+ organizations for the purpose of mutual aid and the benefit of our most vulnerable and marginalized populations of queer peoples.
