Tell your Illinois lawmakers to fix and fund public transit!

Chicago's CTA, Metra, and Pace are facing a funding crisis that could result in devastating cuts to the region's public transit system. Illinois lawmakers need to pass critical funding to prevent cuts and implement reforms to expand and improve our public transportation system. Send a letter to your Illinois lawmakers and tell them to save public transit.

Over a million people ride CTA, Metra, and Pace every day, but ever since COVID their fares have not been enough to support the system as ridership rebounds.  Without a solution to this funding shortfall, riders could lose service on half of all “L” train lines, 60% of city bus routes, and Metra and Pace routes throughout Chicago's suburbs. Hundreds of thousands of Illinoisans would lose access to transit, ultimately putting more cars on the road, increasing traffic congestion and emissions.

Public transit is a key climate solution. We must save the system, but we can also take this opportunity to invest in a safer, more accessible transit system to better serve Chicagoland. Illinois needs to pass a reform bill, paired with $1.5 billion in new transit funding. Send a letter to your Illinois lawmakers today.
