Please take action for FCPS Trust Policy

Dear Fairfax School Board Member,

I am a CASA community member and Fairfax County resident, and I support the proposed Fairfax County School Public Trust Policy. Every child who lives in my community deserves the right to education. All students should have access to a safe education and not have themselves or their families' private information gathered by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to be at risk of deportation. The Trust Policy, if passed, will address this concern Fairfax County families currently have. Fairfax is home to over 352,000 immigrants who are contributing here. Children should be able to just focus on school getting the best education. Regardless of citizenship status, I believe everyone should be treated with decency and respect. CASAs Fairfax's Organizing Committee collectively says this about the School Trust Policy, “We all collectively support the School Trust Policy. We believe our community members’ children deserve the right to a good education. With Fairfax County having the largest immigrant population in the Commonwealth, it needs to continue to show that it is a welcoming and inclusive community to come live in. Children should not have any concern when it comes to going to school, we urge you to please pass this policy.” Implementing the School Trust Policy will create a safe, inviting, and inclusive environment which is welcoming for students going to school and reassuring to all families in Fairfax County. Please support and pass the School Public Trust and Confidentiality Policy, keep all families together, and educate our students here in Fairfax.

Sincerely, [Your information here]
