End Gen Violence Michigan
Support the Michigan Gun Violence Prevention Fund!

Tell the Michigan legislature: fund gun violence prevention!

Michigan made history last year and enacted four new gun laws. These measures will protect our families and communities only if they are properly funded.

We are calling for the creation of a $10 million Gun Violence Prevention Fund in the MDHHS budget to be spent on community education, training for law enforcement and school districts, and legal services for survivors. These funds must be available for community-based organizations and provide support for ALL the new gun laws.

We are also calling for an additional $10 million in the MDHHS budget for community violence intervention (CVI).  CVI disrupts cycles of violence in the neighborhoods that have been hardest hit by guns.  CVI is showing progress: the Detroit Police have publicly credited CVI with a massive reduction in Detroit's murder rate. These programs face a $5 million cut unless funding is restored to the $10 million level.

Take action today and tell the legislature: our communities need funding for gun violence prevention!
