Penn Township ReZoning Interest Sign Up

Say 'No' to Rezoning!

At the Penn Township Planning Commission meeting on October 1 2024, the Commission discussed plans to change the zoning for a large area of the northeast corner of the township from rural resource to industrial commerce. Those in attendance found out that the Penn Township Commissioners have been working behind closed doors since last year with a consultant company, Strategic Solutions, to rezone this area without telling the residents most affected.

The proposed rezoning will impact residents living at Walton Crossing, and residents living around Frye, Bouquet, Walton, and Dutch Hollow roads.

In 2015, Penn Township proposed expanding the current industrial zone along Walton and Melon road, but due to outcry from residents, that proposal was scrapped. Now Penn Township commissioners are seeking to expand this industrial zone even further making way for uses like truck stops, compressor stations, gas processing facilities, warehousing, and other heavy industrial uses.
