Oregon must staff Child Welfare to address our foster care crisis
After years of concerns raised by members about the impact of underfunding DHS on the safety of children in our foster system were ignored, a recent lawsuit on behalf of children in the foster system has brought much-needed attention to finally address Oregon's child welfare crisis. A Secretary of State audit from last year and follow-up audit released on June 5th found that, in order to address Oregon's child welfare crisis, DHS must adequately staff Child Welfare.
Let your legislator know that this is the year to fully fund Child Welfare and finally address Oregon's foster system crisis!
