Starry night sky.
Star Party: Leonid Meteor Shower

Monday, November 17, 2025 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Baltimore Woods Nature Center, 4007 Bishop Hill Rd, Marcellus, NY 13108

The famous Leonid Meteor Shower peaks in mid-November every year as Earth passes through the debris left over from the Tempel-Tuttle Comet that circles the sun once every 33 years. November also offers great views of the furthest-out planets: Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, as well as a good look at the fall skies.

Cultures across the world and throughout time are united in a fascination with the night sky. Humans have used stars to mark the passage of time, tell stories, build mythologies, and navigate across vast dark oceans. With powerful telescopes and a wealth of knowledge, Bob Piekiel is your tour guide to the stars and planets, revealing the secrets of the far away, inspiring us to think about how special our little green and blue ball in space is.

Registration for this program closes at 3pm on Wednesday, November 12.

More details: This program is offered for free thanks to our Star Party Program Sponsor, Marcellus Smiles. This program is designed for ages 8 and up. Space is limited and online pre-registration is required. The backup date will be November 18.
