We, families and neighbors in New York City, are asking you to take a meaningful stand against dirty Wall Street money managers that are destroying our communities and our world. The climate crisis is here and we need decisive action to protect our city and our future.
It is time for New York City to stop handing our pension funds to money managers that are undermining NYC's climate commitments and financing new polluting fossil fuel projects.
Our children deserve better. There are no pension plans on a dead planet.
New Yorkers are counting on your leadership.
Respectfully, we call on you, as Comptroller, to:

Immediately move a portion of city funds out of the biggest dirty money managers like BlackRock;

Create and enforce a long term policy that moves all the City's money from the worst dirty financiers of the climate crisis to responsible, clean money managers.
We know it is not easy. We know you would need to unite the other fund trustees.
New Yorkers are counting on you to do the right and necessary thing: divest the city's funds from dirty money managers and invest in a clean future.
