Hundreds of thousands of workers across the state have lost their jobs during the COVID-19 outbreak, including thousands of immigrant workers.

The Oregon Worker Relief Fund provides lifesaving financial support directly to Oregon immigrant workers who have lost their jobs, yet despite paying taxes, are ineligible for unemployment benefits or federal stimulus checks. An estimated 74,000 Oregonians are falling through the cracks in our safety net — including many essential workers in the food production, distribution and healthcare industries.

The Oregon Legislature has taken a step in the right direction by providing one-time support for this fund, but we know this is just a down payment. This crisis requires ongoing efforts to keep Oregon families housed and with food on their tables.
