As your constituent, I am writing to urge you to ensure abortion remains legal and accessible in North Carolina, and asking that you oppose the just introduced 12-week ban on abortion. Gestational bans are arbitrary and not based on the need of patients, best practices, or sound medical evidence - they are purely political barriers to accessing abortion, a common component of reproductive healthcare.

The majority of North Carolinians support abortion access, and as one of the few southeastern states that still has abortion care available, we owe it to our friends and neighbors to protect abortion access.

There are already too many medically unnecessary barriers to accessing abortion in our state, and we will not accept any more restrictions—not one more! Abortion care is a normal and common part of comprehensive reproductive healthcare, and politicians have no place trying to play doctor.  Abortion bans are arbitrary, politically motivated, and interfere with healthcare. I urge you to vote against further abortion restrictions in our state.
