Join the Host Committee for the Our Everyday Heroes Awards!

Join us for a night of celebration and support Citizen Action of New York's work to advance Our Justice Agenda! We're honoring the ordinary people who, through community organizing & political action, have demonstrated extraordinary power in making New York a more just state. This year's event is being held from 6-8:30pm on Thursday, October 13 at the Manny Cantor Center in Manhattan (197 East Broadway). This year we're honoring the following heroes who have helped advance three pillars of Citizen Action's Justice Agenda – civil rights, climate justice and housing justice:

  • Joo-Hyun Kang, former executive director of Communities United for Police Reform
  • Veekas Ashoka, volunteer with the Sunrise Movement
  • Prince Thomas and Ms. Alice Hudson, Citizen Action housing justice leaders in Staten Island
Please use the form below to join the host committee. If you have any questions about the event please contact Andrew at gala@citizenactionny.org.
