Demand Congress Take Action on Climate Change Now

Demand Congress Take Climate Action Now

Americans are facing some of the most extreme weather patterns in our nation's history. Recent examples – which were both deadly and devastating – range from the California wildfires, to Hurricane Maria, to the polar vortex. We know that climate change will continue to increase the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, and we must immediately take action to combat its impact.

While the majority of Americans understand the threats posed by climate change, President Trump continues to reaffirm that he “does not believe” in climate change. This denial flies in the face of the rigorously tested and widely accepted science.

Thirteen U.S. federal agencies released the National Climate Assessment  last fall, a congressionally mandated report drafted in coordination with more than 300 leading climate scientists. The report highlighted the catastrophic impact of climate change and underscored the importance of taking action NOW to defend against this growing threat.

Our Jewish values tell us that we have an obligation to protect our planet, our neighbors, and future generations.

Join us in demanding that Congress:

  • Pass legislation protecting our environment and curbing the impact of climate change;
  • Urge the President not withdraw from the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change Mitigation (which the U.S. is still a party to until November 2020); and
  • Invest in our renewable energy future.
