The RYH team builds power with families and school communities, and sustains critical hope for the future of public education. As an educator and former CPS teacher, I know how integral the voices of parents and families are in our collective fight for equitably funded, supportive, and caring schools. Now more than ever, we must envision more just systems that will help our young people grow. Donating to our Grow With Us campaign will help Raise Your Hand develop new programming that addresses everything from district and school board policy decisions to whole school safety issues to ensuring that families and young people know their rights. This work is especially important in this climate where funding for public education and the ability for schools to be truly liberatory spaces are under attack.
