• The E-Verify expansion (House Bill 955) would create crushing burdens for small businesses while targeting Floridians navigating our complex immigration system who contribute significantly to our economy. Without these essential workers, Florida will face severe labor shortages across hospitality, agriculture, and construction.
• Even more alarming, the child labor bill (HB 1225) would allow some 14-year-olds to work excessive hours, eliminate required breaks, and extend work before school days. This will force many vulnerable and low-income children to sacrifice their education for a few dollars, creating a cycle of poverty that will harm Florida for generations.
