Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness (FSPW) Liability Release Agreement

As a volunteer/participant with this FSPW project/event, I am aware that, due to the unpredictable nature and conditions of wild lands, there are certain inherent risks involved in traveling in the wilderness backcountry during hikes, events, and stewardship projects. I am also aware that changing weather conditions, steep terrain, and exposure to harmful plants/animals can result in potentially dangerous and uncomfortable situations. By agreeing to this liability waiver, I assume all risks for anything that happens to me while participating in FSPW activities, and hold free from liability FSPW and their project partners. I also acknowledge that I am personally responsible for taking precautions against the risks involved with this project and its activities, and that I am responsible for my own safety.

In addition, by agreeing to this liability waiver, I acknowledge and understand that:

• FSPW and their project partners are not outfitting services and that Project and Hike Leaders are volunteers.
• Leaders are responsible for ensuring, to the best of their ability, that crews are sufficiently prepared and stay together during FSPW activities.
• Participants are responsible for staying with the Leader and for following instructions relating to the preparation, safety, and execution of stewardship activities.
• I am responsible for reading FSPW's Covid-19 Safety Plan and adhearing to the guidelines to the best of my ability.
