Tell Congress: No Child Should Live in Poverty — Pass the Bipartisan Tax Package

On January 31st, the House of Representatives passed a bipartisan tax deal that expanded the Child Tax Credit. Up until this point, the Senate has yet to act, but we are demanding that Leader Schumer bring this critical legislation for millions of children to the floor for a vote immediately — and for the Senate to swiftly pass the bipartisan deal.

Here's what a yes vote on the bipartisan tax deal would mean:

  • Roughly 16 million children in low-income families would now benefit from the expansion in the first year.
  • About 400,000 children would be lifted above the federal poverty line, rising to 500,000 in 2025.
  • More than 1 in 3 Black and Latino children under 17 and 3 in 10 of all American Indian and Alaska Native children under 17, would see a benefit due to the expansion.

This deal would be an important first step toward meaningfully reducing child poverty — which is why every Senator needs to hear from their constituents before it's too late! Fill out the form below and tell your Senators that no child should live in poverty — urge them to call for an immediate vote and pass the bipartisan tax deal!
