Lew is an eminently qualified nominee whose experience and record demonstrate his firm commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Israel. This nomination is further evidence of President Biden's unwavering support for the State of Israel, and JDCA again urges the Senate to swiftly confirm Jack Lew to serve in this position.

The U.S.-Israel relationship is too important to leave this post vacant, especially as Israel faces its most significant security threats in decades. Unprecedented attacks by Hamas via air, land, and sea have led to countless deaths and injuries, civilian and military hostages, and the infiltration of numerous Israeli towns and kibbutzim. As the Biden administration works to support Israel, Congress must ensure that President Biden has the full resources, including personnel, to address this crisis.

Jack Lew is a highly experienced and respected public servant who has held several high-level positions in the White House including Chief of Staff and Treasury Secretary during the Obama Administration. In these positions, Lew worked extensively on Israel-related issues and oversaw relations with high-level Israeli government officials, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. During his confirmation hearing, Lew displayed his expertise on matters pertaining to Israel, emphasized his strong pro-Israel record, and demonstrated clearly that he is highly qualified to serve in this position.
