Stand with us in support of Uvalde
Tell Lawmakers to Support Uvalde Families

Dear Texas State Lawmakers,

We, the undersigned, write to express our profound outrage and disappointment that the Texas Legislature failed to hear HB 1556 this session to raise the age to 21 to purchase semi-automatic rifles.

In the three years since the shooting at Robb Elementary School, the families of Uvalde have shown extraordinary courage and persistence in their calls for action. They have advocated for a policy that could have prevented the shooting that stole the lives of 19 children and 2 educators—a reform supported by 85% of Texans, including 81% of Republicans.

Despite their advocacy and the support of healthcare professionals, educators, and thousands of emails from supporters, leadership refused to even discuss the bill in committee. This is not just a failure of policy, it is a failure of moral responsibility.

We demand better. We demand that our lawmakers treat the safety of Texas children as more important than gun lobby influence. We stand in solidarity with the Uvalde families on the three-year mark of the tragedy at Robb Elementary and reaffirm our commitment to fighting for common sense gun laws.

Sincerely,

Concerned Texans
