DanceAbility Sessions on Zoom and across Detroit
DanceAbility April - June 2025 Fridays Zoom and Saturdays Live

Discover DanceAbility – A Creative Connection for All!

Join DanceAbility, a welcoming and vibrant space for disabled Detroiters, caregivers, allies, and anyone exploring their relationship to disability. Together, we'll move, groove, and connect in a way that celebrates our bodies and builds community–no dance experience needed!

  • Online Series: Enjoy our 6-session Zoom series meeting twice monthly on Fridays, 12:30-2 PM ET. These sessions provide a flexible and accessible way to engage, wherever you are.
  • In-Person Workshops: Immerse yourself in a creative afternoon with a live musician on Saturdays at The LOVE Building (4731 Grand River Ave, Detroit, MI), or Wednesdays at Cullen Plaza (1340 Atwater St. Detroit, MI 48207).

Whether you drop in for one session or attend them all, DanceAbility offers a supportive space to recharge and reconnect. Closed captioning is provided online, and ASL interpretation is available on request. Let's dance, connect, and build community–sign up today to stay in the loop!

At DDP, we prioritize community care and accessibility. While masks are not mandatory at our events, we strongly recommend their use to help protect one another, especially KN95 masks, which provide more protection than cloth masks. We encourage clear masks as an option to support lip-readers, as opaque masks can be a barrier to communication. We often share meals together, so please feel free to do what you need to feel comfortable in those situations. We also recommend testing for COVID-19 at home before attending large gatherings, particularly if you have any symptoms. Finally, we urge our community members to get vaccinated if possible, as it helps protect everyone. Your health and safety matter to us! Masks will be available at our events. Note: If one individual requests all participants mask at an in-person event, we will do so and provide masks.

Please contact DanceAbility's instructor, Cara Graninger (she/her), at DanceAbility@DetroitDisabilityPower.org with any questions or concerns.
