Big oil, gas, and coal companies have been history's biggest polluters and are the cause of much of the climate crisis. If we expect first graders to clean up after themselves, we should demand the same from the largest and most profitable companies on the planet.

There should be a “Polluters Pay Climate Fund” to force the biggest polluters to pay their fair share to clean up the mess they have made.

We the undersigned, support the creation of a “Polluters Pay Climate Fund” to ensure that big oil, gas, and coal companies are held liable for the climate devastation they have caused. These polluters must be required to pay their fair share of the damages, based on the amount of carbon dioxide emissions for which they are individually responsible. The primary costs of climate adaptation and mitigation should be borne by these polluting companies, not consumers or taxpayers.
