Tell Lawmakers to Fund Minnesota’s Forests

Trees help provide clean water and air, offer habitat for wildlife, and sequester massive amounts of carbon. In fact, they're Minnesota's greatest natural climate solution. But our forests need your help.

State legislators need to know you care about investing in forests. Whether by planting tree seedlings, managing destructive pest outbreaks or reducing the risk of wildfires, Minnesota needs public funding for forest management to keep our forests healthy and resilient.

Please Support Funding for Forests

Dear [State Senator and State Representative]

Minnesota’s forests provide clean water, fresh air, and habitat for our iconic wildlife. Trees are a natural climate solution, sequestering carbon and making us more prepared to tackle climate change. I urge you to support capital investments for our state’s forests. Programs at the Department of Natural Resources like reforestation and forest stand improvement are essential for long-term forest health. HF1332/SF1833 allocates $10 million for reforestation, which would support replanting of trees after timber harvest or in places that were historically forested around the state. It also dedicates $8 million to improving forest health through efforts like protecting planted seedlings and treating pest outbreaks. Passing this legislation will support healthy forests for future generations. Thank you for your service to the state of Minnesota during the 2025 legislative session.

Sincerely, [Your information here]
